Even though his football career has been over since the 1991 season, it's been an outstanding seven months for former McNeese State All-American and All-Pro NFL defensive back Leonard Smith. A cornerback and record setting kick blocker at McNeese and a strong safety for both the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals and the Buffalo Bills in the NFL, Smith was ushered into the College Football Hall of Fame last December and now will take a seat... "Leonard had played outside linebacker in high school, was quick as a cat, strong and explosive," said former Cowboy head coach Tommy Tate, who was Smith's position coach during his McNeese career.
