New Richmond man hung on to rental too long, prosecutors claim - Richmond-News

According to a criminal complaint, Pruden brought his 1999 Chrysler 300 to the Luther Chrysler service department in Hudson for a diagnostic check on May 26. He was given a 2015 Jeep Cherokee as a rental vehicle. The service department phoned Pruden later that day to report the check was complete and provided him with a repair estimate. Pruden did not return the Jeep by the agreed-upon time of 6 p. m. May 27, the complaint states. Several calls from the dealership to Pruden went unanswered, including voice messages asking him to return the Jeep. Pruden called Luther Chrysler on June 19 after learning that employees were being sent to his home to locate the Jeep. According to the complaint, Pruden returned the Jeep with an additional 3,500 miles and an empty tank of gas. Luther Chrysler sought the diagnostic test cost -- $800 – and the cost of a tank of gas as restitution. Source: www.newrichmond-news.com
