Victim identified in fatal Storm Mountain accident - Loveland Reporter-Herald

Colorado State Patrol officials have identified the man who died in a Friday morning accident on Storm Mountain Drive. Michael Woodiel, 19, of Berthoud died at the scene of the rollover crash outside Drake about 9:20 a. m. after being partially ejected from the car's front passenger seat. According to Trooper Nate Reid, the accident occurred when the driver of an eastbound 1991 Chevy Suburban took a right-hand curve too fast on Storm Mountain Drive and lost control. As the vehicle started to skid, the driver overcorrected, and the SUV struck a large boulder and tree on the left side of the road, he said. When the vehicle hit the rock, it flipped onto the passenger side, according to Reid. The driver, Hunter Linderman, 18, of Loveland was taken to the Larimer County Detention Center on suspicion of vehicular homicide, a Class 3 felony. and consumption of alcohol and careless driving, a traffic offense.
