But it's two new Toyotas for the price of a fair few million pounds of investment in the Japanese car firm's UK factory in Burnaston, Derbyshire. It has invested more than £138million in the new Avensis, including early prototype development and crash testing undertaken here by a specialist team. To keep it fresh, the car has had more than 2,700 new parts engineered to refresh the design, comfort and driving dynamics. All new Avensis models will be fitted with the Safety Sense package, which includes an autonomous emergency braking system, hill start control and a blind spot monitor. But a new Business Edition trim level is designed for the company car driver, equipped with touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, DAB radio, satellite navigation, and an extension of the Safety Sense package to include lane departure... Order books are open from early June which is likely to start from just over £15,000. Inside the new Auris are iPad-style touch controls for the infotainment system.
