Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car Hits Road America - Super Chevy (blog)

Road America in scenic Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, is the eighth stop in Optima’s 2015 Search for the Ultimate Street Car. For many East Coast and Midwest competitors, it represented one last shot at being invited to the SEMA show and the Ultimate Street Car Invitational that follows, as the final qualifier is in California. K&N Filters upped the ante even more, by offering Spirit of the Event invitations to a competitor in each of the four classes, where typically only one invitation is handed out by K&N at each qualifying event. Since this is also the “home event” for Optima Batteries, there was also hope that an extra invite or two might be extended to someone, as has happened in past years. As the season moves on and more people qualify for the OUSCI, opportunities increase for those not yet qualified to do so. You often don’t necessarily need to win your class to get invited to SEMA and the OUSCI, you just need to be the top... As far as what transpired at Road America, here’s some photos from the weekend where Chevys picked up two more class wins and five of the nine invitations handed out to SEMA and the OUSCI. He also picked up a K&N Spirit of the Event invite to the OUSCI. Source: www.superchevy.com
