"This (Norwalk High) was a big part of my growing up and it influenced my life and where I am today," Love said prior to the event. Love, 39, who was born to Haitian parents in Brooklyn, New York moved to Connecticut with her family when she was three years old. Growing up in an immigrant family, Love was raised Roman Catholic and graduated from Norwalk High in 1993 and The University of Hartford with a bachelor's degree in performing arts in 1997. "What makes this country great can be described in one... During her high school career, Love was known as Ludmya "Mia" Bourdeau until 1998 when she moved to Utah and married Jason Love, a Mormon missionary from Utah whom she met in Connecticut. Upon converting to Mormonism, Love began working as a community spokesperson, which sparked her career in politics. From there, Love, a mother of three, was elected to the City Council of Saratoga Springs, Utah and later as Mayor of Saratoga, Springs Utah where she served from 2010 to 2014.
