Expletive keyed into the hood of Wind Point woman’s car On the morning of Aug. 22, a resident of Shenandoah Lane in the Wind Point neighborhood of Summerville told a deputy she went out to her car and found a nasty surprise: Someone had keyed an expletive onto the hood of her 2009 Chevrolet Malibu in addition to scratching... The deputy requested an extra patrol for the Wind Point neighborhood at all hours of the day and advised the woman to contact the sheriff’s community action team about the neighborhood’s problem. 23, a deputy stopped a man at a public safety checkpoint at the Whitesville Fire Station on Gants Road. The man responded with a name and date of birth and handed the deputy the car’s registration, but the deputy later identified the man and learned that he did not give his real name. Then the deputy asked for the last four digits of his social security number, which the man said he could not remember, so the deputy requested that a corporal meet him at the scene. When the corporal approached the man’s car, the man sped away. Two deputies pursued him onto South Live Oak Drive, then State Road and finally Briarpatch Lane where the man crashed into the back of a semi, but he had enough of a lead on the deputies to escape on foot.
