Cheatham County news briefs - The Tennessean

A 54-year-old Cookeville man was found dead early Friday morning inside his semi-truck at Dillon Transportation in Ashland City. A one-vehicle accident on July 25 claimed the life of an Ashland City man. McCormick, 53, was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber on Goodsprings Road when the accident occurred about 11:45 a. m. , according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report. The report stated the vehicle was traveling westbound on Goodsprings Road down a hill in a curve and it went downhill and hit a plateau before starting uphill. The vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway and continued off the roadway until striking a rock wall. The monthly Cheatham County Cruise-In will be held on Friday at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City. The cruise-in is held monthly on the first Friday night of the month through October from 6-9 p. m. The remaining cruise-ins this year will be held Sept. Additional information on the cruise-in can be found on the "Cheatham County Cruise In" Facebook group page.
