Alice boy found safe after Amber Alert - Alice Echo-News Journal

The suspect, 29-year-old Channing Galbraith was located at a Family Dollar Store, according to sources at KRIS 6 News and arrested on a warrant for kidnapping the child. Alice Police Department issued an Amber Alert for Gomez after his mother, Nelda Baker talked to investigators at the police station around 10:30 a. m. The mother told officers Galbraith has been her off and on boyfriend for the last three or four... Jason Childers, the mother stated Galbraith took the child Wednesday around 5 p. m. after a disagreement. Galbraith was driving a 2009 white, four-door Dodge Avenger with a Texas License Plate BC4-T525. Childers stated Galbraith has a violent criminal history. According to CCPD's report, at 12:08 p. m. , an employee at a local business on the 4000 block of Weber Road called CCPD to report she had seen the (Dodge Avenger) in the parking lot. They stopped the car and took Galbraith into custody in the parking lot of Fire Station 7. An investigator with Alice PD traveled to Corpus Christi to interview the suspect and the boy, Childers said. The child was transported to Driscoll Children’s Hospital by detectives as a precautionary measure, report stated. Galbraith was taken to CCPD to await the arrival of detectives from Alice.
