Police urging van owners to be vigilant after eight Ford Transit break-ins - Saffron Walden Reporter

August 13 - Two electric drills stolen from a white Ford Transit in Chelmsford Road, Hatfield Heath. August 14 - Two blue Ford Transits broken into in the Rifle Hill area of Braintree. August 16 - More than £3,000 of tools and an Apple Mac laptop taken from a white Transit in Chelmsford Road, Dunmow. August 16 - A BT Transit van was targeted in Granary Court, Dunmow and line testing equipment valued at £20,000 was stolen. August 16 - Thieves were disturbed after attempting to break in to a Transit in Ongar Road, Dunmow. The latest incidents bring the total number of no forced entry burglaries from the popular Ford vans to eight in and around Uttlesford over the last three weeks. The two newest break-ins occurred overnight on August 24, when tools were stolen from a Transit in Birchanger Lane, and thieves were disturbed trying to gain access to a Ford van in Stoneyfield Drive.
