1993 Cale Yarborough Racing Bojangles Ford Thunderbird rides again - NBCSports.com

We love to read stories of old race cars that have been lovingly restored to their original condition, particularly old NASCAR stock cars. As we were roaming around the Internet, we came across a great story by John Ash, of Elysburg, Pennsylvania, who has restored to race-ready condition – and he’s also back competing with it in vintage races – a 1993 Cale Yarborough Racing Ford... John wrote to the publisher of his local newspaper, the News Item in nearby Shamokin, Pa. , who printed both John’s story/letter, as well as two photographs of the car, including a shifter plate that Yarborough autographed for Ash, essentially... In his note, Ash says 90 percent of the car is in its original condition. It’s already competed in several Sports Car Vintage Racing Association events, with plans of several more races in 2015. Click here to read Ash’s letter and the story of the infamous No. 98 Cale Yarborough Racing Bojangles Ford Thunderbird. Race cars belong on the track, I’m glad to hear that this one is not meant for a museum. Many similarities exist between the ‘90’s Nascar Ford bodies, depending on short track, road racing, and superspeedway configurations. We own the former Circuit City ’97 Nascar Ford T-bird Superspeedway race car, which is a 110” wheelbase. Source: motorsportstalk.nbcsports.com
