Deputies: Hit-and-run drunk bounces off building - First Coast News

According to multiple incident reports, Larry Mickeal McNair, 37, of Jacksonville, had been drinking Saturday evening before crashing into the front of Advance Discount Auto Parts on Beach Boulevard. When police caught up with McNair, he was reportedly running across the Hart Expressway after abandoning the stolen car on the 2600 block of Art Museum Drive a short distance away. Before invoking his right to silence, McNair admitted to police that he had been drinking earlier in the day, authorities said. JSO brought the rightful owner of the Taurus to check if McNair was the car thief, but the owner stated the car thief was visibly younger than McNair. How he came to have the Taurus is unclear at this point. When police questioned McNair, officers said he gave off a 'very strong odor' of alcoholic beverages. Police also said while talking that he swayed from side-to-side. He is charged with burglary to a structure, trespassing, leaving the scene of an accident with damage, knowingly driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence that causes damage to property and driving under the influence of alcohol.
