Pedestrian Struck by Ford Flex downtown - San Angelo LIVE!

According to San Angelo police, a gray Ford Flex was southbound on Chadbourne, turning left onto W. Harris St. The Flex driver told police that she did not see the pedestrian in the shadow of the shade. The Flex struck the pedestrian. Police said that the pedestrian sustained incapacitating injuries, including possible broken ribs. San Angelo Police Traffic Investigator Stephen Quade said that so far into the investigation, no citations have been issued. I am a frequent pedestrian in San Angelo's downtown area and can readily testify that it is NOT a pedestrian-friendly environment. They have REFUSED to mark one particular intersection with a heavily traveled though still-not-painted crosswalk across Chadbourne at Neff's Way and perpendicularly across Neff's Way at Chadbourne. KNOWN pedestrian traffic patterns have been faithfully IGNORED by our downtown planners, forsaking safety and the walking public. Source: sanangelolive.com
