NEW DELHI: Ford is refreshing its portfolio in India by dumping some old models and bringing in at least four all-new vehicles, as the US auto maker seeks to boost its sales that have historically been driven by one product at a time. While the first model from the fresh range, the Figo Aspire, has just been launched, a new Figo and Endeavour as well as the Mustang are next in line to enter the Indian market over the next few months, said people with direct knowledge of the plans. By launching several models in quick succession, Ford India is trying to shed the image as a one-product-wonder. "As part of our commitment to customers in India, we continue to investigate ways in which we can meet the needs of customers with more products," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director for marketing, sales and service. The new Figo is likely to hit the market by the end of this month or the beginning of October, followed the new Endeavour premium SUV. Ford India's sales fell more than 30% to 18,546 units from April to July - the first four months of the current fiscal year - when the Indian market grew 7%.
