Ford Fiesta, Classic and old Figo production discontinued - RushLane (blog)

In an attempt to revamp its lineup, Ford India has stopped producing aging and slow selling products such as Classic, old Figo hatchback and Fiesta, reports Economic Times. Ford Classic has just been replaced by Figo Aspire sub-4 metre sedan while next gen Figo hatchback is just around the corner to take the baton from the old car. Ford Fiesta unfortunately couldn’t stay afloat in a lucrative segment even after a facelift. Starting from May 2015, the combined sales of Classic and Fiesta plummeted to low double digit territory, giving the company no reason to continue production. Eventually, Ford ended up hiking the price by a staggering INR 89,000. With more relevant products lined up for the country, Ford has decided to give up on its ailing sedan.
