Central Arizona College: CAC property tax increase given OK by board - TriValley Central
Tabitah Smith, an employee of the college, was the lone person who spoke in support of the tax increase. She described the scene last week at graduation and seeing the success of the students who just graduated: The father who works during the day and takes night classes. the single mom who puts her kids to bed and turns around to take online classes to make a better life for her family. The cuts in funding and keeping the tax rate low have resulted in some major cost-cutting measures by the college, including shifting to a four-day work week in an effort to save on utilities and part-time wages.
