Grants will benefit district Avoca's STEM initiative - Steuben Courier
The district will pay approximately $26,500 to Greater Southern Tier Board of Cooperative Educational Services for an independent evaluator of teachers for a new state-mandated teacher evaluation system, Saxton told board members. “will enable Avoca Central to increase STEM training for Avoca teachers,” the superintendent told the school board. Board members took a 45-minute tour of the almost completed $427,000 capital project that included the newly blacktopped main parking lot, classroom renovations, installation of energy-efficient light emitting diodes (LED) lights plus new hallway... Substitute teachers will receive $10 per day raises “to increase the size of the pool of substitute teachers,” board members agreed.
