Madisonville/Mayfield Posts Attend Trooper Island Camp - SurfKY News
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/5/15) — During the week of July 27 through July 31, a total of 64 boys and girls from the KSP Madisonville and Mayfield Post Districts attended the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Camp. Before leaving for the island, Woodman Life Chapter 92, Princeton, Ky. , presented a monetary donation to Trooper Island. In addition, the campers and staff were treated to a cookout at the Madisonville Post courtesy of Woodman Life Chapter 92. During their week on the island, the campers participated in many activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery, fishing... Established in 1965, the free, summer camp is for underprivileged boys and girls ages 10 to 12 that may not have a chance to attend a summer camp. Trooper Island is a non-profit organization, which operates solely on private and business donations. If you would like to make a donation to Trooper Island, you may contact your local Kentucky State Police Post. Currently, the Kentucky State Police is raffling a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab pickup truck (Charitable Gaming #0000633) with proceeds going to Trooper Island.
