CHICAGO • If you’re a fan of the HBO football documentary “Hard Knocks,” the Big Ten Network is hoping you’ll take a look at its upcoming college version. 19 and will run for three weekly episodes leading up to Ohio State’s season opener at Virginia Tech on Sept. Like “Hard Knocks,” which goes inside an NFL team’s training camp, “Scarlet and Gray Days” will have limited access inside the training camp of an Ohio State team coming off its national championship season. “Coach (Urban) Meyer has allowed us to film their practices as they get ready for their opening game,” said Mark Silverman, president of BTN. “Given that it’s our first year, we’re not quite certain how similar it will be to ‘Hard Knocks. ’ But we’ll have an unprecedented look at how a team prepares for its first game. ” Silverman said there is “a guideline, an outline as to where we’ll be and not be,” but said the rules for filming are more general than specific. Seizure-free • Jerry Kill, the Minnesota coach with a history of seizures, said Friday he has not had an episode in more than 18 months. Kill has been stricken on the sideline during games and spent part of the 2013 season coaching from the press box while trying to monitor his health.
