Witness: Suspect got rid of SUV after fatal crash - Lansing State Journal
A man who was held in the Ingham County jail for nearly a week to ensure he testified said today the suspect in a fatal police chase "swapped out" a vehicle one day after the crash. Brian Hildabridle was taken into custody last week after he made efforts to avoid being served with a subpoena to testify during the trial of John Kelsey, who is facing up to 15 years in prison for what prosecutors say was his role in a chase and... During a hearing last week Jamo determined it was and set bond at $100,000. Bond was discontinued and Hildabridle was released after he testified today. 7 while he was "swapping out" a vehicle, although he said the vehicle was a tan-colored Chevy Trailblazer. Earlier in his testimony, Hildabridle said the white SUV Kelsey was seen driving the night of Dec. Prosecutors allege Kelsey was driving a white 2003 Yukon Denali XL registered to his father, and Kelsey was seen driving a similar vehicle in the days before the police chase but not after. Screen shots of surveillance video from the Dam Site Inn in Hell, east of Pinckey, show Kelsey driving up, entering the bar about midnight, drinking with his friends and leaving the bar around 2 a. m. in a large white SUV. A staff engineer at General Motors testified that the vehicle in the photos was either a GMC Yukon Denali XL or a Chevy Suburban, made between 2001 and 2006, but couldn't be more specific than that.
