Pregnant woman shot in road rage incident - Reedley Exponent
An 18-year-old pregnant Reedley woman remained in critical condition on Aug. 4, about 36 hours after she was shot while riding in an SUV driving north on South Englehart Avenue near the Fresno/Tulare county line. Tony Botti, public information officer for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release that the woman’s unborn baby survived the shooting. 2, when the driver of the victim’s SUV passed the suspect’s SUV on Englehart because it was driving slowly, Botti said. As the vehicles continued driving north, the suspect’s vehicle pulled alongside the SUV and someone fired at least one bullet into the victim’s vehicle through the driver’s side window. Botti said the driver of the passing SUV — the victim’s 26-year-old husband — turned around and drove back into Tulare County, stopping near Nebraska Avenue. The husband pulled off to the side of the road and asked a passerby for help dialing 911. A Reedley police officer in the area located the victim’s SUV and followed as the husband drove his wife to Adventist Medical Center-Reedley. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a light brown 2006 to 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban or GMC Yukon. There were at least two people in the SUV, last seen driving north on South Englehart Avenue toward East Huntsman Avenue. Source: www.reedleyexponent.com
