Report: Drunk cop drove into mailboxes - Asbury Park Press

LITTLE EGG HARBOR – The Tuckerton police officer who was arrested for drunk driving in the township last week had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit in New Jersey, according to a police report of the incident. Tuckerton Patrolman Bruce J. Evans, 33, was charged in neighboring Little Egg Harbor Township with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving on the night of July 27. A blood-alcohol reading of 0. 27 was measured during his breath test,... Evans was identified as the driver of the 2014 GMC Terrain, an SUV registered to the patrolman’s wife, according to the report. The Asbury Park Press obtained a copy of the report from the Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department on Wednesday under the state Open Public Records Act. Last week, police in Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton did not respond to a reporter’s informal inquiry about the incident. As Little Egg Harbor Patrolman Dan Ivancich responded to the scene about 10:18 p. m. , he passed two mailboxes lying in front yards and a group of about 10 neighbors demanding justice in the street near the officer’s SUV.
