Blood leads cops to suspect in three reported crimes - Great Falls Tribune

A local man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on seven criminal counts connected to several reported thefts and burglaries earlier this year. Dakota Michael Lucero, 24, is charged with burglary and theft, both felonies, along with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, in connection to a break-in at Pete’s Auto at 3456 10th Ave. Lucero is also charged with burglary, a felony, and misdemeanor theft and criminal mischief in connection to a break-in at Power Pro/Interstate Batteries at 1712 3rd St. N. W. in February. Court documents say the intruder obtained access by breaking a window. Blood was found at that crime scene as well, and it also was a match for Lucero, according to charging documents. Lucero faces one additional count of felony theft for the alleged theft of a 1994 GMC Suburban with tools valued at $5,000 inside. The charging information says the vehicle matched a vehicle seen in surveillance video taken at CAT Graphics that showed three people attempting to gain access to the building. The police report says blood evidence also was obtained in the vehicle theft case, on the door handle of the Suburban. The report says the blood was a match for Lucero.
