Austin bar owner searching for stolen monster truck - KHOU

AUSTIN, Texas – Thieves stole a monster truck Friday and it hasn't been seen since, according to the south Austin bar owner who is searching for it. Steve Gee said he parked the truck behind Crow Bar Friday night while his neighborhood street is... Gee told KVUE not only has he put plenty of time and money into the truck, it also holds sentimental value. The 1991 GMC Suburban has been a project three years in the making. "Pretty unique, pretty one of a kind," he said. "I just got new tires and wheels on it so it definitely became monster truck," he said. Gee and Mike Densley opened Crow Bar together in 2010. Steve said Mike always wanted a monster truck and when he passed away three years ago Steve starting building one as a tribute to him. "We were best friends for like 15 years," he said. "Big monster truck like that, it's not like they could hide it very many places," Gee said. "It's been like four days so, I mean, my hopes are diminishing I think," he said. Gee says he did have an alarm on the truck but somehow the thieves got around it. They also avoided the cameras in the lot. Source: www.khou.com
