With the announcement that the U. S. men’s soccer team will kick off qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia with a match on Friday, Nov. 13, at Busch Stadium against Aruba or St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Ream now must work to make sure he is on the U. S. roster. “Honestly, it’s just doing the things I’ve been doing,’’ said Ream, who starred at St. Dominic High and St. Louis University and started in a pair of games for the U. S. in the recent Gold Cup. “I will put a little bit more pressure on myself because I obviously want to be involved in that team and this game, but you can’t overdo it or overthink it. I just have to keep working, to continue doing what I’ve been doing to get back in with... “We were obviously disappointed (after losing in penalty kicks to Panama in the Gold Cup third-place game), but when I got the chance, I was pretty happy with my play. You’re never going to be 100 percent perfect, you’re always going to make mistakes here or there, but overall I thought I contributed and played well.
