Fiat Chrysler Recalls 1.4m Cars After Jeep Hack - Bulletin Leader
It states that the following models are affected: 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge... Chrysler is urging customers to contact the company for a software update if their vehicle is part of the recall. Discovered by a pair of security researchers, the exploit gives hackers the ability to remotely control an FCA auto, from simple functions like climate control and windshield wipers, to more serious systems, like brakes, steering and transmission. The recall comes days after Wired reported a demonstration by hackers in which they were able to access and control a Chrysler Jeep as it was being driven. Although hackers didn’t exactly revealed the process, only the result of hacking, the company disclosed in a statement that the breach was made through vehicles radio, and said it would update software to close it.
