LOUIS • Eight people were hospitalized after four separate weekend incidents involving gunshots fired from vehicles on St. Louis streets and highways. Three of the victims were shot early Saturday on westbound Interstate 70. Authorities said the injured women had just left downtown St. Louis when gunfire erupted about 3:45 a. m. According to police, someone in a black SUV, perhaps a GMC Envoy,... But as he pulled to the shoulder, police said, the SUV pulled alongside a second car, firing on the occupants. Their conditions were not available, but police said they were stable. It was not known which vehicle she was in. The I-70 shooting took place about 90 minutes after St. Louis police responded to a report of a man, 19, shot by the occupant of a red Grand Prix as the man stood at a parking lot in the 1000 block of... As the Grand Prix sped away, the victim was taken by friends to a hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition with wounds to the lower back. An hour earlier, police said, a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist as he was driving east on Ridge Avenue near Union Boulevard. Police again said only that the victim was stable.
