The Revival Of The Full Sized American Luxury Car - ChicagoNow (blog)

We know currently full sized luxury SUVs sell and have been and it could be argued that the rampant success of the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and GMC Yukon XL Denali have poached from former luxury car buyers. This week (from the New York Auto Show), both Cadillac and Lincoln are bringing out two different but needed new flagship luxury cars. The Cadillac CT6 & return of the Lincoln Continental. Its been well noted both companies have had their struggles despite their parent companies (General Motors & Ford respectively), have done extremely well. I personally went through their section at the Chicago Auto Show in February and its GM at its best but it didn't inspire me and I grew up on the south side idolizing Cadillacs. But this newest car the CT6 is an exclamation point, its the car to literally go after the biggest and best from Europe & Asia. The Continental is an iconic American car, from the mid 1960's classic version with the "suicide doors", to the legendary limousines of the 1970's through the end of the century, this was the standard for American luxury. And like with Caddy, I went through the Lincoln side of the auto show too and their cars are no less. Source: www.chicagonow.com
