This, in turn, may cause the power door lock/window switches to malfunction or fail to operate, or overheating, which could melt door module components and result in a fire. The NHTSA bulletin warns that a fire increases the risk of personal injury and could occur even when the vehicle is not in use. As reported by The Detroit News, General Motors said it has received “at least” 28 reports of door fires, six reports of injuries, and two of property damage related to this issue. What General Motors will do. Chevrolet, Buick, GMC will notify owners, and Saab and Isuzu will notify their respective owners.
