Kiwanis Art and Music Showcase winners named - Tifton Gazette
TIFTON – The annual Kiwanis Art and Music Showcase was held recently at the Tift County High School Performing Arts Center March 6. More than 175 people attended to view 39 art entries and to listen to the 26 music contestants. Ribbons were awarded to the art winners and trophies were awarded to the music winners. The art winners: In the fifth grade category: Second place - Cole Porter, “Cocker Spaniel,” Tiftarea Academy. and first place - Cayde Hollis, “The Old Mill,” TA. In the sixth grade category: first place - Seth Jones, “Sunset on the Lake,” J. T. Reddick. In the eighth grade category: honorable mention - Alexis McKenzie, “Enchanted Forest,” Eighth Street Middle School and Jordan Turpen, “Floppy Hat,” also ESMS. second place - Randa Cooper, “Winter House,” ESMS. first place -Caleb Underwood, “Rick Grimes,” ESMS. In the ninth grade category: second place - Marissa Tiamfook, “Perception,” Northeast Campus of TCHS. In the 10th grade category: honorable mention - Madisyn Marshall, “Weightless,” TA. third place - Jack Strickland, “Misty Breeze,” Tift County High School. second place - August Cotton, “Cardinal,” TCHS. and first place was a tie – Chandler Mathis, “Converse,” TCHS and Tyler Coker, “Dark Spring,” TCHS.
