Thomas DeRosa stopped a 1997 Honda Prelude driven by Sean Ahlquist, 24, of Clinton, on Route 173 because the vehicle had a brake light out. Police said Ahlquist and his passenger, Zachary LaGasse, 24, of Clinton, appeared nervous and under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Both men were in possession of hypodermic syringes and several Suboxone strips, police said. Ahlquist and LaGasse were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic syringes and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. DeRosa learned that passenger Christopher Shell, 27, of Easton, Pennsylvania, was a wanted person for a no-bail warrant issued by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for driving while suspended after a second driving while intoxicated offense. DeRosa also located several other motor vehicle and criminal warrants for Shell’s arrest, police said. DeRosa arrested Shell and turned him over to Somerset County detectives.
