Man switches license plate, documents to avoid ticket, cops say - lehighvalleylive.com
Police stopped Morrison, who was driving a silver Honda Accord, on Founders Way just north of East Third Street. His license plate showed it should be registered to a 2001 Hyundai, but Morrison was driving the 2005 Honda, court records filed by police say. Additionally, police say the VIN number for the registration plate's vehicle – the Hyundai – was not the VIN of the Honda Morrison was driving. Police then looked at Morrison's inspection stickers with a 12/15 date and they appeared to be altered with the months likely changed on both the safety inspection and emissions inspection stickers, records say. Morrison then allegedly admitted to police he took the stickers off the windshield of a friend and placed them on his vehicle in an attempt to avoid being stopped for not having the vehicle inspected. He also allegedly took the registration plate off the friend's vehicle and placed it on his vehicle to make it look like his vehicle was currently registered. The 2005 Honda Accord was not registered or inspected, according to police. Source: www.lehighvalleylive.com
