2 teens arrested, 1 at large, following street armed robberies Uptown - NOLA.com

Two 16-year-olds are in police custody, and a third teenager being sought, in connection with two armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery Thursday night (Aug. New Orleans police are investigating whether the three teens are responsible for additional Uptown-area armed robberies that have frustrated residents and authorities in their frequency and audacity. The three teens began their alleged crime spree around 9:30 p. m. Thursday, New Orleans police said. About an hour later, in the 900 block of Cadiz Street , a 27-year-old woman was attacked by the three teens and robbed of her purse and her 2001 silver Hyundai Elantra, police said. Less than 20 minutes later, the three teens walked up to a man and woman standing at the corner of St. Andrew and Prytania streets, police said. Responding officers located the Hyundai Elantra at Sixth and Carondelet streets, where the three teens jumped out of the car and ran. The last of the trio's suspected armed robberies took place at nearly the same time as the Patois restaurant incident, and may have contributed to what restaurant staff called a delayed police response.
