I was told that the fuel line and fuel pumps were clogged and needed replacing. When I got there, the antilock brake (ABS) light came on. The dealer repaired the ABS system and now tells me the car needs a thermostat. What is going on. A. The problem with your car, like many, is that lack of driving can be worse than abusive driving. The fuel system, brakes and even the cooling system can all suffer from lack of use and maintenance. Regarding topping off the fuel tank, it is certainly possible this will cause damage to the cars evaporative emission system and is not recommended.
