Police are searching for a suspect or suspects who broke into the home and stole items, including electronics and two sets of keys to the vehicles parked in the driveway. Both vehicles were recovered, police said. The 2014 Nissan Pathfinder was found on Interstate 690 East near the intersection of I-481 South, police said. The other vehicle, a 2009 Hyundai Elantra, was found on a dirt roadway in the construction area behind Turning Leaf Drive just south of the village of Manlius. The owner of the Merrimac Drive residence said both vehicles were damaged and his family was reeling from the shock of the home invasion burglary. The family awoke to police knocking on the door around 6:30 a. m. The officer asked if they owned a Nissan Pathfinder, and if they knew where it was. The resident said he was trying to sort out everything that was stolen and call the appropriate authorities to alert them. The resident said he was shocked that someone would be so brazen as to enter an occupied home with three children sleeping upstairs in a place like Manlius, where he said he knows some neighbors who feel comfortable leaving their cars and homes...
