Route 9 was closed at Sunset Avenue while a utility pole was replaced by Jersey Central Power & Light, Stocco said, with detours in place at Sunset and at West Whitty Road. Route 9 finally reopened early Wednesday evening, Stocco said Thursday. The pole was extensively damaged when a 2007 Infiniti G35 driven by Nicholas Corsair, 19, of Raymond Avenue, left the road and hit the pole shortly before 10 p. m. Tuesday, Stocco said. Corsair’s passenger, Robert Latronico, 23, also of Raymond Avenue, was found to have five outstanding warrants in the amount of $1,500 from Brick and Toms River and was arrested, Stocco said.
