Accused Syracuse carjacker denies murdering Oneida woman - Syracuse.com

Kevin Farley pleaded not guilty today in Madison County Court to two counts of first-degree murder and 12 other felony charges -- denying an indictment accusing him of killing Tiffany Meeks inside her home on Aug. After killing Meeks, Farley stole her car and fled to Syracuse, police said. Farley pulled into Price Chopper's Erie Boulevard parking lot and parked the pilfered vehicle, police said. A woman had just finished loading groceries into her 2000 Lexus RX 300 when she was approached by Farley, said the Syracuse Police Department. The woman gave Farley $45 and stepped out of her vehicle, police said. Officer Daniel Rathbun spotted Farley about 30 minutes after the robbery on South State Street, police said. When Rathbun tried to pull the stolen vehicle over, Farley sped away. After blowing through 13 stop signs on a 3-mile chase, Farley crashed the Lexus into two vehicles near the corner of East Brighton Avenue and Intrepid Lane, police said. Farley, according to police, told investigators he stole the Lexus in the hopes of driving the vehicle to the Hilltop area to buy crack cocaine. The Oneida Police Department spent hours cataloging evidence inside Meeks' home. Source: www.syracuse.com
