New GS 200t Joins Updated 2016 Lexus GS Range - Motor Authority

It was at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance back in 2011 that we first saw the current Lexus GS. Now, on the eve of this year’s event, Lexus has unveiled an updated version of its mid-size luxury sedan. We already know that the 2016 GS line has been expanded with a high-performance GS F variant , and now we can reveal that there’ll also be a new point of entry to the range in the form of the GS 200t. Paired with an eight-speed automatic and spinning the rear wheels only, Lexus estimates that the engine will help the GS 200t return as much as 33 mpg on the highway. The 2016 model year also sees the GS 350 adopt a new 3. 5-liter V-6 engine. The new unit delivers 311 hp and 280 lb-ft, up from 306 hp and 277 lb-ft previously. And sitting at the top of the range is the GS F, whose 5. 0-liter V-8 is good for 467 hp and 389 lb-ft. You’ll be able to spot the 2016 GS by its revised front which adopts a bolder Lexus spindle grille, extra LED elements in the headlights, a new graphic in the tail lights and a new shape for the exhaust tips.
