Deputies said Herman Carpenter, who hadn't been seen since late Wednesday night, was found at Price Road and University Drive. Carpenter, who also suffers from congestive heart failure and diabetes, was taken to a hospital as a precaution, an MCSO spokesman said. Carpenter told his wife he wanted to "sleep in his own bed" before he walked out of the couple's Sun City home in the area of Del Webb Boulevard and Bell Road and drove away about 10:15 p. m. Wednesday, a spokesman said. Carpenter, who does not have a driver's license, was driving a white 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante and believed to possibly be headed to California, where the couple once lived, the spokesman said.
