New Mitsubishi Challenger revealed - The Sunshine Coast Daily

Mitsubishi's third-generation Challenger 4x4 SUV, based on the Triton ute, has been revealed in Thailand, where it's badged Pajero Sport. Style-wise the new Challenger (as it will be known when it arrives here) features Mitsubishi's new Dynamic Shield front face design concept - as seen on the facelifted Outlander SUV - while rather funky rear lights thinly stretch down to the base... Mitsubishi says the seven-seater is powered by a 2. 4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel mated to a new eight-speed automatic, but hasn't released power or economy figures. However the current Triton on which the Challenger is based offers 133kW and 430Nm from its 2. 4-litre diesel, albeit with a six-speed auto or five-speed manual. An evolved version of Mitsubishi's Super Select II four-wheel drive system is employed, and is joined by a new Off-road Mode terrain selection system and hill descent control - both firsts for the brand.
