Oakland: Major BART delays after report of armed passenger - San Jose Mercury News

OAKLAND -- A report of an armed man aboard a BART train caused a station closure and systemwide delays Wednesday night, police said. Officers closed MacArthur station at 8:18 p. m. Wednesday to respond to a report of a man beating another passenger with a firearm on a Fremont-bound train, said BART police Lt. Michael Hayes. The station reopened at about 9 p. m. , but the closure caused 20-minute delays systemwide. A passenger on the train told arriving officers that the man had a gun, but police were unable to find any beating victim or the gun itself. Source: www.mercurynews.com
