Next Volkswagen Tiguan Teased, Heading to Frankfurt Show - Automobile

Our previous spy shots of the Volkswagen Tiguan have indicated the crossover will take on sportier proportions, by and large mimicking the shape of the Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE concept that was revealed at the 2015 Detroit show. We know that the next Volkswagen Tiguan will ride on the same MQB platform as the Golf, Audi TT, and Audi A3. VW has also confirmed that its plant in Puebla, Mexico will shoulder U. S. -bound Tiguan production. That means a 1. 8-liter turbo-four gas engine as the base offering, and 2. 0-liter turbodiesel and 2. 0-liter turbo-four engines higher up the ladder. Both front- and all-wheel drive will be available, the latter a Haldex 5 setup cribbed from the Golf R. The Volkswagen Tiguan has been built primarily in Wolfsburg, Germany since 2007, shipping 1. 6 million units. Source: www.automobilemag.com
