Hennessey Cranks 2016 Cadillac CTS-V up to 1000 HP - Automobile

When officials pulled the covers off the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V at the 2015 Detroit auto show, we knew it was only a matter of time before the horsepower maniacs at Hennessey Performance breathed their own brand of crazy into the super sedan. This week, Hennessey announced plans for an upgrade package for the already-potent 2016 Cadillac CTS-V that will boost power output to an astounding 1000 hp. As it comes from the factory, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is a staggeringly capable car. With 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque out of its 6. 2-liter supercharged LT4 V-8, the CTS-V is claimed to hit 200 mph right out of the box. To bring the CTS-V up to the 1000 hp mark, however, Hennessey plans to ditch the stock Eaton TVS1740 supercharger and will replace it with a pair of turbochargers. Hennessey previously made headlines with his 1,066-hp version of the last-generation CTS-V Coupe, which cracked 220 mph on a closed public road. With this in mind, President of Hennessey Performance John Hennessey believes the 2016 CTS-V will have the gumption to go even faster. Source: www.automobilemag.com
