She took her computer to an Apple store and was told the procedure was not authorized by Apple and was probably a scam. She changed the sign-on for her computer, and her bank suspended the charge. • Thieves stole a wallet valued at $100 out of a customer's purse between 2:20 and 3 p. m. Aug. 17 at Mariano's, 450 W. Half Day Road, and used two credit cards in the wallet to purchase two gift cards for $1,000 and $10,000 at a Target in Vernon Hills. The Target security department said the person who purchased the cards appeared to be with two other men. • A woman stole cancer medication between noon and 6 p. m.
