Elizabeth Reid going into BMHS Alumni Hall of Fame - Thehour.com

"Under future plans I wrote to be a successful lawyer," the 1985 Brien McMahon graduate points out. I really loved law and it's always been a big part of who I am. ". Reid followed that childhood dream all the way to the Office of the Public Defender in Norwalk, where she is currently a supervisory assistant. That same path, plus a quarter century of community service, has now led Reid to the Brien McMahon High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame. After McMahon, Reid attended the University of Massachusetts and then the Quinnipiac University School of Law. At Quinnipiac, Reid was president of the Student Bar Association while earning several awards. Sixteen months later, in January 1996, she returned to Norwalk as an assistant public defender. "I'm grateful I was hired to be a public defender in the town I grew up in and live," she said. "And I'm very grateful I get to spend my life doing something I knew I was meant to do. ". But Liz Reid has also made an impact outside the courtroom. Source: www.thehour.com
