Next weeks Barum Czech Rally Zlín (28-30 August), round seven of the 2015 FIA European Rally Championship, has received a massive 143-car entry, with drivers from 26 countries participating in the challenging Tarmac event. There are 22 R5 and Super 2000 cars in the top ERC1 category, four in ERC2 and 19 in ERC3, within which are 14 ERC Juniors. Some of the big stand out names include three-time event winner Jan Kopecký, who drives a factory KODA Motorsport Fabia R5. 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR Touring - Quick Spin - Car and Driver

What Is It. . A slightly more comfortable version of the iconic Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The Evo MR Touring presents a somewhat subtler visual image, with its less obnoxious rear wing, while making occupants a bit more comfortable with full leather upholstery, more sound insulation, heated seats, and a sunroof. Auto headlamps and an insulated windshield round out the Touring trim, which is considered the flagship of the Evo line. A classier center console with improved materials comes along for the ride to dress up the interior, as it does for all 2010 Evos and higher-end Lancer trim levels. Very well, since the additions add only about 30 pounds compared with the MR. The MR Touring still drives like the Evo it is. it just seems to bring a little less craziness than do other Evos (and it can be argued that the normal one brings less... Indeed, although we probably still wouldn’t choose this car for any “touring” duties, it is certainly the most touring-worthy of the current crop of Evos. How Does It Stack Up. . Mitsubishi Adds 2010 Lancer Evolution SE Between GSR and MR Trims - Car and Driver (blog)

Likely as a result of wing loss and reduced interior content, the SE is a claimed 22 pounds lighter than the MR, and should weigh about 50 pounds less than the MR Touring, so the SE may offer an ever-so-slight performance advantage as well. All told, the SE is essentially a stealthier-looking Evo MR with fewer bells and whistles, providing the cheapest point of entry to the dual-clutch transmission. The good news is that Mitsubishi will be asking just $36,585 for it when it arrives in showrooms this fall as a very late 2010 model.
