A: A very common problem with these cars was a faulty computer and the diagnostic routine was very simple. With the car running, tap on the outside of the ECM (computer case) and see if the car shudders or shakes. Whenever the car goes through larger puddles on the road, the battery light will come on and we will lose power for a second or two before the problem disappears. Obviously something is getting wet that should not, but I am not sure what needs to be done to find the problem. A: Since the problem only happens when the car gets wet, simulate the wet condition. With the engine running, pour water on the belts, starting on the crankshaft pulley. The problem could be a faulty belt tensioner or a worn crankshaft pulley. I have seen some cases that the two-piece pulley slips when it get wet, which, in turn, causes the alternator light to come on. Q: I am the proud owner of a new 2014 Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package. The issue is with the ultra-high-performance, run-flat summer-only tires. Driver in deadly crash will not face felony charges - Marion Star

The driver of a car thought to have caused a crash in which three Marion residents died July 14 will not face felony charges, Marion County Prosecutor Brent Yager said Tuesday. Officials said Larry F. Dennison Jr. , 43, was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the 2003 Ford Focus he was driving south on Delaware Avenue slammed into a 1994 Buick LeSabre. The occupants of the Buick — Johanna M. Sisson, 45. Edwin Sisson, 50. and Amanda Sisson, 27, all of Marion — died in the fiery crash at 3:25 p. m. on Delaware Avenue just north of Executive Drive. Yager said a jury would have to believe Dennison was under the influence to convict him of a second-degree felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. He said he provided a file of the case to Marion City Law Director Mark Russell, who said: “It’s reasonably expected there will be filing of misdemeanor charges once we receive the files from the felony prosecutor. He said the charges he is considering are vehicular homicide, a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine, and vehicular manslaughter, a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $750... Jay Flaa doesn't know where he'll be getting his mail in the next fortnight, but it probably won't be North Dakota. Flaa, the North Dakota State University closer from Mandan, was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles during the sixth round of the MLB first-year player draft on Tuesday. "It will probably be between rookie ball, which I'd assume, or single A in the Gulf Coast League.
