Restraint has never been one of Markieff Morris ‘s go-to moves. So his announced desire to be traded from Phoenix earlier this week was about as unexpected as one of his technical fouls. Morris had 15 of those last year, when he was second in the league and one short of the number that would bring about an automatic one-game suspension. One-third of Morris’s technicals came after Suns coach Jeff Hornacek instituted a teed-up, sit-down policy in early January with the implicit backing of general manager Ryan McDonough after the carping Suns accumulated a league-high 36 techs in 46... Markieff, who was benched never to return 130 seconds into the third quarter of a 120-100 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on. Morris was arguing a call on a play in which Clippers forward Matt Barnes fouled him. But if the other half of the Twin Glowers wants to do himself a favor, he should just put a sock in it. It weakens Morris’s position to publicly pout about wanting out, and it weakens the Suns’ position in trying to put together a trade package,... The market would certainly constrict if general managers believe the Suns must sell low to get rid of Morris, and who wants a malcontent, anyway, even if some of the rhetoric is simply posturing. By running on about leaving the Suns, Morris might insure that he stays. Dave Dombrowski's departure marks the end of an era for Detroit Tigers - SI.com

Dombrowski joined the Tigers as president/CEO/GM in April 2002. Prior to that, he served in a variety of roles, many on the player development side, with the White Sox (1978–1986) and Expos (1987–1991). He became the latter team's general manager... During his time in Montreal, he brought promising homegrown youngsters such as Larry Walker and Marquis Grissom to the majors but also presided over the trades of Tim Raines to the White Sox and a young Randy Johnson to the Mariners. He left the perpetually cash-strapped Expos to join the expansion Florida Marlins as executive vice president and GM in September 1991 (they would not begin play until 1993), presiding over both the construction of the surprise 1997 world... ?Dombrowski left Florida in November 2001, months before the infamous three-way franchise swap that allowed Marlins owner John Henry to purchase the Red Sox, and Expos owner Jeffrey Loria to purchase the Marlins, with the Expos turned into wards... they would eventually move to Washington in 2005. The Tigers initially hired Dombrowski to be their president and CEO, but when the team started the 2002 season 0–6, he fired incumbent GM Randy Smith, who had failed to produce a winning. Our sales may even reach 120,000 units if the market will continue growing,” TMP president Michinobu Sugata said on the sidelines of the launch of the all-new Hilux held here on Tuesday night. According to Sugata, the locally assembled Vios model is expected to remain TMP’s best selling nameplate for this year. This model will be applied for participation in the government’s Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy program, which dangles P27 billion worth of incentives to vehicle assemblers and auto parts manufacturers. “I cannot say when (we will apply) but I can say that the Vios is the most probable candidate for the CARS program,” Sugata added. Under the CARS program, the Philippines is expected to attract more than P27 billion in new parts manufacturing investments. In the meantime, TMP launched here the 8th generation Hilux, a premium pick-up seen to enable the company to regain market leadership in this segment after losing it to a competitor last year, Sugata said. According to Sugata, sales of the Hilux are expected to hit 900 units a month, or as much as 5,400 units within the second half of this year, given the improvements made in this model. “The Hilux has gained a following since it was first introduced in the Philippines in 1993.
