On Sunday, Lexington County Sheriff Lewis McCarty announced investigators arrested Michael Gene Sulier, III, 26, of 1903 Picadilly Drive, Cayce, on Friday in Camden on a murder charge. A day before, Lexington County detectives arrested Mark Christopher Hodges, 24, of 218 Leland Road, Gaston, on a charge of accessory after the fact to murder, McCarty said Sunday. An arrest warrant alleges that between 9:38 p. m. and 10:45 p. m. on March 4, Sulier used a handgun to shoot and kill Berry in the 100 block of Apricot Court near Gaston, McCarty said. The warrant further alleges that after Berry was killed, Sulier and Hodges drove Berry’s Mitsubishi Eclipse, with Berry’s body inside the vehicle, to Orangeburg County, McCarty said. Sulier allegedly parked Berry’s vehicle in a field on Monaco Lane near North, where the car was intentionally set on fire with the intent of disposing of the vehicle as well. Source: thetandd.com
