Fatal shooting marks latest act of violence in KC neighborhood - KMBC Kansas City

Duan Hart died Wednesday, three days after he was shot in a convenience store parking lot near 43rd Street and Indiana Avenue, a neighborhood that’s seen a lot of violence. The driver never used the air machine, but minutes later Hart arrived and was shot moments later. The video also shows one person get out of a green Chevrolet Silverado, then get back in as it pulled away. People who knew Hart said they have been left with pain and outrage. He was a sweet man,” said Lana Williams. She said crime has taken over the neighborhood where she and her son live. Hart’s shooting Sunday happened one day before a man was hurt in another shooting at 43rd Street and Benton Boulevard. Two months ago, three people were injured in a drive-by shooting at 43rd Street and College Avenue. Investigators said they have not found evidence that the three shootings are related, but people in the area said they’re tired of seeing the flashing police lights and yellow crime scene tape. He and other people in the area said they’ve had enough. Police said they’re looking for the occupants of that green Chevrolet Silverado. They said the vehicle has “4x4” written in dark green or black on the bottom edge of the frame. Source: www.kmbc.com
